The previous week was all about Nvidia, its new 9800GX2 sandwich card and the new 790i chipset. Unfortunately, most of the announced motherboards based on this new chipset from Nvidia were based on the reference design, but now MSI has decided to join in, and show us what happens when Circu-Pipe is the one that cools the 790i.
MSI's 790i Ultra SLI motherboard, or as MSI brands it, P7N2 Diamond, supports Intel's 45nm Core 2 processors with FSB 1600MHz, and it also supports 2000MHz DDR3, which is nowhere to be found yet, at least in Europe. Unlike other motherboards based on Nvidia's 790i chipset this one comes with four PCI-Express slots with support for 3-Way SLI x16.
MSI has decided to implement its Circu-Pipe cooling on this motherboard, which should be much better than the reference solution. The audio is done over the included Creative X-Fi Extreme sound card. The price and the availability of this motherboard are still unknown, but we will keep you up to date as we get additional info.
