Crytek公佈了其最新的Roadmap。新的Roadmap已經公佈,Crytek將支援DirectX 12,Vulkan和光線即時追蹤到CRYENGINE上。
CRYENGINE 5.6 - 5.7的基礎
CRYENGINE 5.6將引入以下功能:
- Mesh/Opaque Particle Casting Shadows
- Render Optimization Pass
- Tesselated Particle Ribbons
- Opaque Particle Z-Buffer
- Memory Footprint Reduction
- CPU Optimization
CPU優化很可能是對高核心數CPU的改進支援。這將有利於使用未來Ryzen 3000 CPU和CRYENGINE的遊戲玩家利用Zen 2的設計。對擁有高核心數的Intel CoreX系列CPU的遊戲玩家也是如此。CRYENGINE 5.6將為CryEngine 5.7提供基礎,並定於2019年夏天發布。
而CRYENGINE 5.7將於2020年春季發布,CRYENGINE 5.7將帶來了多項新功能,與以前的CRYENGINE相比都有重大改進:
- Support for Oculus Quest
- Improved VR Support
- Area Lights Implementation
- Improved Multiple View Rendering
- Opaque Particles/Deferred Lighting
- Optimized Dynamic Instancing
- DirectX 12 Implementation
- Vulkan Implementation
- Raytracing Implementation
CRYENGINE最值得注意的三個新增功能是DirectX 12,Vulkan和Raytracing。Crytek以其高級優化而聞名,可以從用戶的硬體中獲得最大的性能,並且透過DirectX 12和Vulkan支援,性能改進將更大。DirectX 12和Vulkan肯定會為Radeon GPU提供不錯的性能提升。DirectX 12和Vulkan將為CRYENGINE帶來異步計算支援,GCN的一個選項就是利用它。
另外CRYENGINE 5.8將建立在CRYENGINE 5.7上。CRYENGINE 5.8將增加對Multi-GPU DX12配置的支援。另外一個補充也是對NVIDIA Ansel的支援。CRYENGINE 5.8的其他新增功能包括:

- Vegetation Spine Animation on GPU
