The Verdict

Snazzy is my new trendy hip word I use a lot for nifty new products we test which I actually like. So yeah, the 32 GB Voyager is snazzy. The product works beautifully in every foreseeable way, except it's write speed is a tad on the slow side. This as far as I'm concerned, for a product of this caliber, should and can be faster. The Corsair Voyager in it's 32GB flavor is intended to move around a lot of files, meaning you'll likely move files often to this little gem and every now and then be bothered by that write speed. But don't get me wrong, it's not considered slow at all, I just expected this to be a tad faster.

The other way around, read speed is just fine, it's on par with a modern age flash-disk media and speedy enough for pretty much anything. Corsair's Voyager series has become known as being the most durable thumb drive series on the market. There have been countless reviews on the web where people have thrown their drives off of buildings, put them in a freezer, ran over them with their car. After all this hassle the drive has to go through, more often than not, they will still function. And they did :)

The rubber casing surely makes the Flash Voyager enormously durable and if you're hard on your components, you won't have to worry about the Corsair Flash Voyager at all. We dropped it down the stairs which didn't even scratch the USB drive.  In fact, it was still good to go when we got it back into the test-system.

I recall the first 4GB flash drive in the store, but it retailed for well over $400. Today, we can find a variety of 4GB drives for a measly $50. This 32 GB version has eight times that capacity yet sells for $159.

If you're looking for one of the biggest USB 2.0 flash drives on the market, the Corsair Flash Voyager is exactly what the doctor ordered. Kudos to Corsair for this nice product release & sending out this sample.
