ARM have recently announced the launch of a new processor family,
these processors are aimed to be used within smartphones, smartbooks
and other consumer electronics, this new family of processors is called
the “Cortex-A5 MPCore microprocessor family”.
These processors are designed to deliver better performance than current
ARM9 and ARM11 processors, these processors have been used in a wide-range
of modern devices, which include HTC handsets, Nokia handsets and even
hand-held consoles.
The Cortex A5 processors are not only faster than previous ARM chips,
but they also consume less power, therefore we can expect future ARM
handsets to be faster whilst delivering better battery life.
Exactly what clock speeds and number of cores we can expect to see
is currently unclear, however there is talk of a possible quad-core 1GHz
chip, as we hear more we will keep you updated, don’t get too excited
though as apparently these chips won’t be seen in devices until 2011,

說真的,在Atom跟CULV滿街跑的狀況下,你還會對ARM有興趣嗎?拿點牛肉出來好嗎? |
