【開箱簡測】WERO 雷翎 Thunderbolt 5 (JHL9480) M.2/NVMe SSD 外接盒效能簡測 (圖多)

近期朋友從電商入手WERO TB5外接盒,詢問我是否要先試試,順勢就有
了這篇應該算是國內首篇TB5 SSD外接盒測試。
其實WERO TB5的外接盒在今年首見於網路媒體,根據電商的文宣表示採
全鋁合金外金外殼,搭配智慧溫控風扇,提供更佳的散熱能力。

相對於常見的TB4或USB4外接盒,它的散熱架構設計顯然更好,散熱風
道的設計,加上較寬敞的空間布局,原廠表示可以讓SSD運作溫度更低。

TB5線材連接處,接頭處也沒擺歪掉,之前有些陸廠的外接盒到這邊的作工
就比較隨便,不過WERO似乎擺脫了這個詬病處。

但還是不支援最長的22110長SSD。

原本想同步測試Intel JHL8540 TB4環境,無奈不論是ASUS TB4擴充子卡
或是Z790 Hero內建的TB4 (JHL8540),接上WERO TB5外接盒,全都只抓得
到SSD外接盒,卻抓不到990 PRO SSD。
以下測試數據分別列示TB5、USB4及Z890 TB4 Native。
TB5環境:

儘管目前Z890對於Samsung、SMI主控在Gen4x4的循序讀取速率限速在3000MB/s附近,
但對Phision主控卻不限速,這個怪問題還沒解決前,對於TB5環境的測試有點不太
公平。測試過程中,彷彿看到當年的Thunderbolt 4 vs USB 3.2 Gen2x2 20Gbs對決
的影子。最後,還是能作個簡單的小結論。
優點
1. 即使在TB5環境,外接盒散熱通道的設計,它的散熱效果讓人難忘。
2. TB5環境裡部分短程測試軟體可以跑出6000MB/s以上的讀取速率。
3. TB5環境裡部分短程測試軟體可以跑出5800MB/s以上的讀取速率。
4. 完整配件、CNC切割及外觀設計,提供一個類似精品質感。
5. 搭配ASM4242也可以發揮USB4 40Gb/s該有的速率。
6. 搭配Z890原生的TB4,部分傳輸率不輸给TB5環境,甚至還超車贏過。
7. 支援M.2 2280以下的四種長度SSD。
缺點
1. 不支援Intel JHL8540主控,不確定是個案還是通病。
2. 原廠附的TB5線材較適用搭配NB用,若是桌機要從背後拉勢必要再買條長線。
3. 目前售價相對於TB4或是USB4外接盒仍有一段價格差距。
