【開箱簡測】USB 3.1/Thunderbolt 3 控制晶片評比簡測 ~ RAID0篇 (圖多,不喜勿入)

延續前篇單碟測試,本篇考慮USB 3.1 Gen2外接盒僅能接兩顆HDD/SSD
作RAID,因此加測RAID0篇,以完整測試USB 3.1 Gen2搭配ASM1352R後
能不能完全贏過SATA 6Gb/s RAID0?


測試環境簡述:

M/B: ASUS X299-Deluxe BIOS 0802
CPU: i9-7900X
RAM: GSkill DDR4-3000 8G*4
OS SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB
測試碟: Samsung 850 Pro 512GB/256G 分別裝在Akitio NT2 U3.1 Tray1/Tray2,並設為Raid0模式。
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise x64 1703 build 15063
USB 3.0/3.1 Driver: Windows 10 Default Drivers
USB 3.0:Intel X299
ASM1142 USB 3.1:Akitio MP-HU316A-AKT v1.0
ASM3142 USB 3.1:ASUS X299 Deluxe
Thunderbolt 3:ASUS Thunderbolt EX3(Intel DSL6540)
eSATA:SYBA SD-PEX40054 (Marvell 88SE9230)
USB 3.1 Gen2 外接盒:Akitio NT2 U3.1 2bay RAID外接盒,設為RAID0
eSATA 外接盒:Stardom i310-SB3(6Gb/s) 2組
SATA RAID0 設定:Intel X299 RAID0 Strip 64K。
eSATA RAID0 設定:Marvell 88SE9230 RAID0 Strip 64K。

AIDA64 Read Test Suite,設定檔案容量為1MB及8MB來測。

讀取速率測試中,不管那款USB 3.1 Gen2晶片,均無法超越SATA 6Gb/s門
檻,ASM1142不僅輸給88SE9230,也輸給TB3。

AIDA64 線性讀寫測試,設定檔案容量為8MB。線性讀寫速率都以X299表現
最好,ASM3142也打敗了88SE9230。但線性寫入速率則是ASM3142平均最快。

AJA 設定影片格式為2048*1556 2K-1080解析度,編碼為16bit RGB,從
64MB~64GB全測一輪。

讀取速率仍由X299最好,88SE9230輸給了TB3;寫入速率可見到X299及
ASM3142互有領先,TB3仍居第三名。

Anvil's Storage Utilities設為Compress 100%(Incompressible模式),
以下測試皆勾選Write-Thru選項去測試,從1GB~32GB全測一輪。

循序讀取速率以X299最快,ASM3142仍快於TB3,88SE9230似乎被ASM1142壓
著打;循序寫入速率ASM3142與X299間的差異縮減的更少,8SE9230只有在
大檔寫入才贏過ASM1142。

4K讀寫速率,X299與88SE9230各有所長,TB3還是只能與Intel USB3.0相互

4KQD4讀取速率,X299仍遙遙領先,ASM1142贏過ASM3142,TB3只比Intel
USB3.0快一點;4KQD4寫入速率,X299持續領先,ASM1142贏過ASM3142。

4KQD16讀取速率,X299仍遙遙領先,ASM1142贏過ASM3142;4KQD16寫入速
率,X299持續領先,弔詭的是ASM3142/1142同時在檔案8GB大小時,曲線呈
陡降走勢。

32K/128K讀取速率,在32K時,ASM1142幾乎贏過88SE9230;128K時,ASM3142
與88SE9230不相上下。

讀取分數自然是X299最高,ASM3142屈居亞軍;整體分數因寫入因素,
88SE9230取得亞軍,但贏ASM3142贏的驚險。

AS SSD設定檔案大小為1GB,並測試Copy Benchmark。

循序讀寫速率,X299最快,ASM3142次之,TB3僅小贏88SE9230。

4K讀寫測試,各項目全由X299獲勝,88SE9230在4K-64 Thrd寫入輸給了
ASM1142,但ASM1142贏過了ASM3142及TB3,則是令人印象深刻。

512B讀寫速率仍是X299最佳,但讀取速率ASM1142取得亞軍,88SE9230在寫
入速率恢復正常,擊敗ASM1142奪回亞軍。

讀、寫及整體分數仍是X299冠軍,88SE9230雖然寫入速率較慢,但讀取速率
彌補了以後仍獲得亞軍。

Copy Benchmark測試中,X299全勝,USB晶片全輸給了88SE92305,ASM3142
取得第三名。

ATTO Diskbenchmark設定檔案長度為64K、64MB、256MB、512MB、1GB、2GB、
4GB及32GB,測試模式設定為Overlapped I/O及Neither模式進行測試。

Overlapped I/O模式,可以看到88SE9230在傳輸速率大於4K以後,讀寫表
現有點力不從心。

Neither模式,可以看到88SE9230在傳輸速率大於32K以後,讀寫表現有點
落後。

及32GiB。

Seq Q32T1讀取測試中,ASM1142輸給TB3及ASM3142;寫入測試仍以X299最佳,
ASM1142僅贏過USB 3.0。

4K QD32T1讀取速率,X299在4GiB以上容量明顯變快,ASM1142贏過ASM3142;

4K讀取速率分兩段,X299的速率走勢呈開高走低,小檔速度快,TASM1142贏
過ASM3142;4K寫入速率分成三段,ASM1142居於第三名,ASM3142蠻意外地
輸給了TB3及USB 3.0。

NetworkDLS讀取測試以X299的平均速度最快,ASM1142贏了ASM3142及TB3;
平均寫入速率以88SE9230冠軍,ASM3142居次。

循序讀寫測試:平均讀寫速率以X299最快,ASM3142平均讀取速率比88SE9230
快,但ASM3142平均寫入速率略慢於88SE9230。

取速率全輸給TB3;寫入測試仍是X299最快,TB3的寫入速率比ASM1142/3142

寫入測試,X299仍最快,88SE9230僅輸給了X299。

File Benchmark選項以Block Size 512MB檔案長度為基準,設定50MB、500MB、
2000MB及4000MB,並分別測試資料型態為Zero及Mixed。

循序讀寫測試:在Mixed型態時,88SE9230讀寫速率已顯老態。在Zero型態
時,TB3終於有較正常表現,寫入速率出現ASM1142較弱的情況。

4K 隨機單檔讀寫測試,在Mixed型態時,X299讀取速率居冠,TB3表現令人
失望,寫入速率出現ASM3142表現不如預期。在Zero型態時,TB3的讀取速率
仍讓人失望,寫入速率則是ASM3142讓人很失望。

4K 隨機多重讀寫測試,在Mixed型態時,概分為兩級,X299贏過88SE9230,
ASM1142贏過其它USB擴充晶片,TB3表現不如預期。寫入速率ASM1142較為穩
定,ASM3142似乎不如ASM1142來得穩定;在Zero型態時,讀取速率仍分為兩
級,TB3多數情況比USB 3.0來得差,寫入速率仍見到ASM1142較為穩定。

HD-Tach RW 讀寫效能測試,分別針對8mb(Quick Zone)及32mb(Long Zone)測試。
8mb(Quick Zone):平均讀取、寫入速率仍是X299最快。ASM1142平均讀取
速率比ASM3142快,寫入速率卻慢於ASM3142。

循序讀寫速率以X299表現最佳,ASM3142亞軍,TB3第三名。

隨機讀取速率,128K以上的88SE9230讀取速率挺弱的。寫入速率似乎則是

Parkdale v2.97根據Block Size 64K或1MB,把檔案大小從250MB~4000MB全
測過一輪。

循序讀取測試呈兩段式結果,Block 64K時,88SE9230全勝,但在Block 1M
時,88SE9230僅贏過USB 3.0。循環寫入測試也是一樣,Block 64K時,
88SE9230與ASM3142你來我往,在Block 1M時,88SE9230成為最後一名。

結論:

前篇單碟測試中,ASM1142是所有USB 3.0或USB 3.1晶片表現最佳的,到
了本篇RAID0篇測試,平均表現略輸給ASM3142而居於第三名,eSATA的循
序讀寫速率雖然比不上ASM1142、ASM3142或是TB3,但是4K讀寫的強項彌
補了其不足性,整體平均表現仍僅次於X299而獲得亞軍,TB3的表現說真
的還是讓我失望透頂。

2018年初,若您的外接儲存裝置是當RAID0格式來存取,且存取的幾乎都
是大檔時,看來ASM3142或ASM1142控制晶片都是一時之選,但若是存取小
檔案,還是要回歸SATA或eSATA作RAID0,才能達到較佳的效果。
