2GB DDR3 vs 1GB DDR5規格比拚，再戰 NVIDIA GT730 小強卡性能對決延續先前在各種眼花撩亂的不同晶片版本 GT730、GT630 簡單性能比較後也過了一段時間，中間也經歷了 Geforce GTX980 發表帶來的性能功耗大躍進等顯示卡大事。重新回來看低階市場似乎可以發現原先很多Rename 的GT630系列與相當少量的 GF108-based GT730 ，大致上應是清倉完畢，幾乎消失殆盡。目前能買到的盒裝 GT730 新品幾乎就是以使用 GK208 晶片的產品為主，少一些”馬甲”產品 再銜接之後 Geforce 9 系列要將型號統一化的策略自然對於消費者要辨別型號與性能的關連性會比較方便一點。
但雖然型號減少，但 GK208 版本 GT730 本身還是有些變化，不是在於晶片本身，而是搭配的記憶體規格與容量的差別，從官方的資料表來看，GK208 版本是升級至 384 CUDA cores，記憶體可以搭配的有 DDR3、GDDR5 兩種規格； DDR3 在官方設定中是搭配 2GB 容量、14.4GB/s 頻寬，而 GDDR5 只有搭配 1GB容量、但有 40GB/s 頻寬，這樣一來兩邊各佔的優勢相當的明顯，但是實際上的性能表現會是怎麼樣呢？一般會選購這樣入門卡的 USER 大部分是使用單顆 FHD 解析度的螢幕，在這兩種規格上的差異表現會是怎麼樣。

這次測試方法大致也是延續前篇測試，找來幾張市面可得的 GT730，直接呈現了幾種常見測試的性能表現。三張卡分別是 OEM 版本的 GT730 DDR3 2GB、ASUS 自製的 GT730 DDR3 1GB、以及 MSI 的 GT730 GDDR5 1GB 三張卡。

從結果看到，得益於GDDR5 相較於 DDR3 近三倍的大頻寬，在測試的工具中性能大約有提升到 50% 左右；就算是手動降頻的結果，去掉 10% 的領先幅度比較起來也是相當可觀。另外互相比較 GT730 DDR3 1GB 與 2GB 的性能來說，2GB 的領先幅度大約是在 10% 以下。
大記憶體帶來的優勢並沒有辦法派上用場，一來是記憶體頻寬成為 GPU 的瓶頸；二來是以 GT730 GPU 運算能力來看，適合的顯示設定的材質占用在 1GB VRAM 下便已經夠用，硬要提升解析度或是材質細節只為了會拖垮 GPU。平心而論，大顯示記憶體容量的配置還是要放在中、高階顯示卡上面才有適得其所。
不過早先或許是為了市場的銷售策略，而有些刻意將 GDDR5 版本價格拉高，當然在這種預算導向的採購來說，多花太多錢在追求多出來的效能上似乎還是會讓人猶豫；不過以目前市場變化的狀況來看，1GD5 和 2GD3 的價格差異不大甚至幾乎是沒有，但是在性能差距如此之大的情況下，1GB GDDR5 的 GT730 似乎是更有 C/P 值的採購選擇。
